Chevy Reveals 2016 Silverado Realtree Edition

One of SHOT Show 2016's most interesting products was revealed on Tuesday, but it wasn't a firearm or a gun accessory. Chevrolet introduced the new 2016 Silverado Realtree Edition to a crowd of eager spectators, including some of the top outdoor media in the country.

This outdoors-inspired special edition truck leverages the strength, versatility, and plain good looks of the Silverado and distinguishes it with camo graphics from Realtree, the world's leading camouflage brand. This is the latest manifestation of a decade-long partnership between Chevrolet and Realtree.

"Working with the team at Chevrolet on this new Realtree Edition Silverado really brought home to me just how important the right truck is for outdoor enthusiasts," said Realtree Designer and President Bill Jordan. "You just don't realize how much goes into building a true performance vehicle until you look behind the scenes. The men and women at Chevy truly delivered on this project. This truck has the perfect combination of features, comfort, and safety—whether you're driving around town, on the highway, or off-road."

The new Realtree Edition package is offered on Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 crew cab models and includes exterior camo graphics and the Realtree logo embroidered on the front-seat headrests. Additionally, the interior features the Realtree camo logo and graphics.

"The capability of Chevy trucks has always enabled customers to go where they want to go and that's the inspiration for the new Silverado Realtree Edition," said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing.

The Chevrolet Silverado is one of the longest-lasting full-sized pickups, with rugged steel construction and backed by proven V8 power and efficiency. The Silverado 1500 was the segment leader in the 2015 J.D. Power and Associates U.S. Initial Quality survey.

The 2016 Silverado features signature LED lighting, advanced connectivity, and enhanced customer-focused technologies. The new front-end design stands out with a bolder, more sculpted appearance that reflects the underlying strength of the Silverado's high-strength steel construction.

The new Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Z71 Realtree edition is loaded with great features including Rancho monotube shocks, Hill Descent Control, underbody shield and recovery hooks, and 18-inch bright-machined wheels with an available remote locking tailgate. The Silverado's V8 engine offers some of the most advanced technology in the industry, and the Active Fuel Management offers the best V8 fuel economy in a pickup—23 mpg in the 5.3 liter models.

The 6.2-liter enables an 11,700-pound max trailering rating with the LTZ Z71 crew cab models when properly equipped. The interior technology in the Realtree edition keeps you connected when you're enjoying the great outdoors. Chevrolet's MyLink enhances connectivity and promotes safer driving and allows smartphone users to connect with applications like navigation and hands-free messaging. 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity provides a strong link back to civilization when you're in remote locations and remarkably, it can handle up to eight devices and the new wireless phone charging system is included in the models with front bucket seats.  This pickup allows you to stay connected anywhere your adventures take you.

The new Chevrolet Silverado Realtree edition will be available in the spring of 2016. Pricing info should be available soon. You can learn more in the video below.
